AirportNotes is a mobile application operated by Bahadır Arslan (“AirportNotes”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what information AirportNotes processes, why it is processed, and the choices available to you.
Information you provide
When you create or use an account, AirportNotes may process your email address, display name, optional airline and pilot-rank information, preferred note language, and linked Apple or Google account identifier. Apple or Google login does not give AirportNotes your provider password.
AirportNotes stores the airport notes you create. Community notes are visible to other users. Private notes are visible only to the signed-in account and are available only with AirportNotes Pro. Notes can remain on your device while offline and synchronize when connectivity returns.
If you use “I was here”, AirportNotes stores the airport and time of your visit so you can keep a private airport history. AirportNotes 2.0 does not publish this history on your public pilot profile and does not notify followers about your location. Any future sharing feature will require a separate product and privacy decision before it is enabled.

Automatically processed information
AirportNotes may process app version, device and operating-system type, anonymous installation identifiers, synchronization status, feature usage, performance information, and crash diagnostics. We use this information to operate, secure and improve the application. We do not intentionally include note text, passwords, authentication tokens or legacy draft contents in analytics or crash reports.
Push-notification tokens are stored to deliver notifications such as new activity on saved airports and helpful votes on your community notes.
Advertising and purchases
The free service may show Google Mobile Ads. Where required, AirportNotes asks for advertising consent through Google’s consent platform. Advertising providers may process device identifiers and interaction data according to your consent choices and their own policies.
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play and managed through RevenueCat. AirportNotes receives entitlement and subscription-status information, but does not receive your full payment-card details. AirportNotes Pro enables private notes and removes ads. The legacy Remove Ads purchase continues to remove ads without enabling private notes.
Service provider
AirportNotes uses service providers only as needed to operate the service, including Apple and Google for sign-in and distribution, RevenueCat for purchase entitlements, Google Firebase for push delivery, Google Mobile Ads for advertising, Postmark for transactional email, PostHog for product analytics, Sentry for production crash diagnostics, and hosting/database providers for the API and PostgreSQL data store. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments.
Legal bases and purposes
We process account, note and synchronization data to provide the service you request; security and diagnostic data for our legitimate interests in keeping AirportNotes reliable and secure; marketing/advertising data with consent where consent is required; and information when necessary to comply with law or protect users and the service.
Retention and deletion
Account and note data is retained while your account is active. Operational security logs and de-identified aggregate metrics may be retained for a limited period. Backups expire according to the hosting backup cycle.
You can permanently delete your AirportNotes account in the app. Account deletion removes your account, private and community notes, airport visits, votes, follows, blocks, sessions, connected sign-in identities, device registrations and server notification history, subject to any retention required by law. If you used Sign in with Apple, AirportNotes also requests revocation of the related Apple token. Deleting AirportNotes does not automatically cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription; subscription management remains available in the relevant store account.
Offline data stored only on a device is removed by the app’s account-deletion flow or when the application is uninstalled. An old AirportNotes 1.x draft may be read once during upgrade so it can be recovered; AirportNotes does not send the draft body to analytics.
Your choices and rights
You can update profile information, disconnect a login provider when another login method remains, change advertising privacy choices where available, and delete your account from the app. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing, or request data portability. Contact us to exercise an applicable right.
Security and international transfers
AirportNotes uses measures including encrypted network transport, modern password hashing, short-lived access tokens, rotating refresh sessions and restricted production access. No system is completely secure. Service providers may process information in countries other than your own with the safeguards required by applicable law.
Children
AirportNotes is intended for pilots and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Age thresholds may be higher where required by local law.
Changes
We may update this policy as AirportNotes changes. The current version and its effective date will be published on this page. Material changes may also be announced in the application or by email where appropriate.
